Arlington Dental Receives OSHA Award

Arlington Adult Dentistry Receives OSHA Award For Exemplary Workplace

Chicago - The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) today announced that Arlington Adult Dentistry is one of the only 10 Illinois companies to qualify for participation in the U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP).

The company undergoes a detailed inspection of their facility by safety and health consultants from DCEO to ensure the company's safety and health management program is effective. The colsultation program provides no-cost assistance to identfy safety and health hazards, correct the hazards that are identified, and to develop and implement safety and health programs.

"Arlington Adult Dentistry has demonstrated a sincere commitment to providing a safe workplace for their employees and that translates to a healthful setting for heir patients," said DCEO Director Jack Levin. "By publicly recognizing participants in SHARP, our hope is that other employers will follow their example in providing the safest working environment they can for their employees."

Arlington Dental has been envolved with the SHARP program since 1999 and continues to maintain the highest level of safety and health in their workplace. SHARP was established to publicly recognize the safety and health acheivements of exemplary employers. The program provides incentives and support to smaller, high hazard employers to improve the effectiveness of their workplace safety and health programs.

Effective implementation of safety and health management programs has been shown to result in immediate and long term prevention of job-related injuries and illnesses, which produce significant operating cost savings for employers.
